I AM HONORED TO BE THE GUEST SPEAKER AT MADING ELEMENTARY'S READING CELEBRATION

Books, Blankets and Breakfast

HISD's Mading Elementary is the only dual language and STEM Academy in the state of Texas.  At Mading, to celebrate the success of each scholar for reaching or exceeding grade-level reading expectation, students are being honored.

​These scholars are being allowed to dress in pajamas for the day to distinguish their accomplishment. They will spread out, in the multipurpose room, with their favorite books and blankets to read.

I feel honored and am excited to have the opportunity to do a meet and greet with these amazing students.   Each student will receive a certificate, and a swag bag of goodies. In addition, I will read my book, "Marisol: A Little Girl with a Big Dream,"  that encourages young children to pursue STEM careers. To wrap up the event, I will deliver a word of encouragement for these scholars to continue to reach their goals.  Being raised in Southeast Houston, this is close to my heart.
